"Applied climbing" for fun and profit

What do you do if you're stuck in the flatlands of Indiana? Here's an exercise of good weekend climbing fun that solved a simple task: to cut a dead branch that was dangerously overhanging the back yard. A rope, crampons, a saw - and I think I earned enough brownie points to go to real mountains some time soon ;-).

Ascent begins
Two feet above the ground - gotta stop for acclimatization to avoid altitude sickness!
The first tie-in point
At the top-right there's a horizontal dead branch that needs to be cut

Need to get to the next fork
OK, we're here. Crampons a-shining, saw a-sharpened, branch a-condemned
Work in progress. It took some time as all I had was a manual camp saw

My favorite part of climbing
Taking time to enjoy the view
All done. The dead branch lies under the tree
Final touch - pulling down the rappel.
